The Role of Social Media/Networking in Conversations about Race We are in an age where email, text, and social media have become the preferred method of communication. Social media has given a powerful voice to people from all around the world when it comes to conversations. It has given people the idea to create, share or exchange information, pictures, videos in many virtual communities. Many people’s minds have been influenced by the different social media that they have evolved their entire lives on it. People nowadays cannot go a day without using the internet not even for a few seconds. You see people on the streets, while driving, during lectures in class, and basically just about anywhere using their electronics to communicate. Social media has both pros and cons. The pros about social media is when it is used as a tool to communicate, to get your news, other important information, and to amplify voices and the cons about it is that some people misuse it to hurt others by bullying and discriminating people.
